Sématos.eu respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
2. Data We Collect
We collect minimal data to operate the Service:
- Cookies: We use two cookies (NEXT_LOCALE and SIGN_LANGUAGE) to remember your preferred interface language and sign language. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
- Server logs: Standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. These are used solely for security and debugging purposes.
- Account data: If you create an account, we collect your email address to identify you and send transactional emails (e.g. password reset). Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes and are never readable by us.
3. Anonymous Analytics
We use Umami, a self-hosted, privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how our website is used. This helps us improve the service.
- No cookies are used for analytics.
- No personal data is collected or stored.
- Data collected includes: page views, referrer URLs, browser type, operating system, device type, and country. Your IP address is used to determine your country but is never stored.
- All analytics data is fully anonymous and cannot be used to identify individual users.
- Analytics data is processed and stored exclusively on our own servers.
4. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Account data is only shared with sub-processors strictly necessary to operate the service (see section 5).
5. Third-Party Services
Videos are served directly from OVH Object Storage (OVH SAS, a French company), the same provider that hosts our infrastructure. Accessing a video may result in your IP address being logged by OVH. For account holders, we also use Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, a French company) as an email delivery sub-processor to send transactional emails such as password resets. Brevo processes your email address solely on our behalf and is bound by a Data Processing Agreement. Learn more at brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy.
6. Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, or delete any personal data we hold. Account holders can delete their account and all associated data at any time from their account settings. For other data requests, please contact us.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
