1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Sématos.eu (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Sématos is a multilingual sign language dictionary. A free tier is available without an account, and an optional paid plan named Sématos+ unlocks additional features. The Service provides video demonstrations of signs in French Sign Language (LSF), International Sign Language (ISL), Spanish Sign Language (LSE), and Catalan Sign Language (LSC).

3. Use of the Service

You may use the Service for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Systematically download or scrape content from the Service
• Redistribute video content without prior written consent
• Use the Service in any way that could damage or impair it

4. Intellectual Property

All content on the Service, including videos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of Sématos.eu or its content providers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

Sématos+ is an optional paid plan billed on a monthly or yearly basis. The following terms apply when you subscribe:

• Pricing: Current prices for Sématos+ are displayed on the pricing page. Prices are shown in euros (EUR) and include any applicable taxes (such as VAT) charged by the merchant of record.
• Automatic renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. You authorise the merchant of record to charge your payment method at each renewal.
• Payment processor: Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (operated by Lemon Squeezy LLC), our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects and remits applicable sales taxes, handles payment data, manages disputes and chargebacks, and provides billing support. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account billing page or via the Lemon Squeezy customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access to Sématos+ features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Right of withdrawal: Sématos+ is a digital service whose performance begins immediately upon successful payment. By confirming your purchase, you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law (Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU) once the service has been fully provided. You may still cancel your subscription at any time as described above.
• Failed payments: If a renewal payment fails, your subscription enters a past-due state and Lemon Squeezy will retry the payment for several days. If payment is not collected, your account is downgraded to the free plan and Sématos+ features become unavailable.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis by Lemon Squeezy under their refund policy. Contact us at contact@sematos.eu or use the Lemon Squeezy customer portal for any refund request.
• Changes to pricing or features: We may change the price or feature set of Sématos+ in the future. Any change will not affect your current paid period. We will notify you in advance before such a change applies to a new billing period, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

6. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Sématos.eu does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of the content. Sign language usage may vary by region and context.

7. Limitation of Liability

Sématos.eu shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these terms limits any rights granted to you as a consumer that cannot be waived under the mandatory law of your country of residence.

8. Modifications

Sématos.eu reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes affecting paid subscribers will be notified before they apply.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Luxembourg. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Luxembourg, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules granting you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
