Privacy Policy for Android Application
Last updated: March 16, 2026
Data Collection
Sematos ("we", "our", or "the app") is a sign language dictionary application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how the Sematos Android application handles your data.
Sematos does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use it.
Data Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following data locally on your device:
- Your selected sign language preference, to remember your choice between sessions
- Your favorites (words you have marked), saved locally for quick access
- Cached API responses, to improve performance and reduce data usage
This data never leaves your device and is not shared with us or any third party. You can clear cached data at any time via Settings. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Network Requests
The app connects to the Sematos API to retrieve sign language content (words, themes, videos), and loads videos from static.sematos.eu. These requests do not contain any personal identifiers.
Google Play In-App Reviews
The app may display Google Play's in-app review prompt. This is managed entirely by Google Play. Sematos does not receive, access, or store your review or any personal information related to it.
Analytics and Tracking
Sematos does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks. We do not track your usage of the app in any way.
Third-Party Services
Apart from Google Play's in-app review system, the app does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or advertising networks.
Children's Privacy
The app does not collect personal information from any user, including children. It is suitable for all ages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
